Congresswoman LaMonica McIver has represented New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2024 (118th Congress-Present). She is the first Black woman to represent her district and the youngest ever to be elected to the House. In Congress, McIver serves on the House Committee on Small Business and the House Committee on Homeland Security. Before coming to Congress, McIver was the youngest woman elected to the Newark, NJ City Council and served as council president for seven years. McIver earned a bachelor’s from Bloomfield College and a master’s from Seton Hall University.
