Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have been deeply committed ensuring Americaâs elderly, poor, and underrepresented have equal access to preventative and routine healthcare and services from the groupâs founding in 1971. Since that time, the women of the CBC have played a major role in strengthening the link between community advocacy and healthcare legislation. As we continue the national healthcare debate today, take a look at the Avoice Women of the CBC Exhibit to see how the CBCâs female members have helped shape healthcare policy and raise the level of national awareness about the devastating effects of poor health, nutrition and diet; dental hygiene; women’s reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.
