For over thirty years, the Congressional Black Caucus has fought to improve the state of Healthcare, Health research and services not only for minorities, women, and other underrepresented groups, but for all Americans. On the timeline below you can see some of the important legislation proposed by the women of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Collins introduced this legislation during the 95th, 96th, 97th, 98th, and 99th Congresses. During the 100th Congress, Collins also included mammograms in her proposed legislation. During the 102nd Congress this legislation was introduced as the MEDICAID WOMEN’S BASIC HEALTH COVERAGE ACT OF 1991. Collins introduced similar legislation during the 103rd and 104th Congress. |
